In Automotive Services, students learn to service brakes, suspension, steering, electrical systems, emission controls, and automotive heating and cooling systems. Students have the opportunity to earn ASE credentials as well.

Maintenance & Light Repair A, B #570071 & #570072 Students learn to perform basic electrical wiring checks, brakes, read basic wiring schematics, andhow to recognize basic electrical components. | Maintenance & Light Repair C, D #570073 & #570074 This level allows students to use electronic test equipment to perform basic engine and drivability diagnostics, and to learn emission controls. | Automotive Services Technology A, B #570076 & #570077 Students will learn the basic principles of a heating and cooling system, air conditioning function and diagnostic. They also learn manual transmission and clutch systems. |
Credential Certification Opportunities
Our goal is to provide students with the opportunity to build stackable credentials such as ASE Refrigerant Recycling, OSHA 10 hour, S/P2 Safety, and Snap-on Multimeter as they nagivate their programs of study. This will make our students more valuable to potential employers. Automotive Technology offers the following certification opportunity:

ASE Student Brakes
ASE Electrical/Electronic Systems
Articulated College Credit
Students may receive ARTICULATED credit through the Alabama State Community College System after completing quality assurance criteria in this Career Technical program.
